Primary 6 explore 2D Shapes
Primary 6 have been exploring 2D shapes in a fun and creative way. They learned to identify and describe different shapes, and investigated how these can be combined to make patterns. As part of their work, the class looked closely at symmetry, spotting lines of symmetry in everyday objects and designs. They were especially inspired by Mandala art, noticing how repeating 2D shapes and symmetrical patterns can create striking designs. Using this inspiration, each pupil designed and created their own Mandala artwork, carefully arranging 2D shapes to show balance, colour, and symmetry. The results were bright, detailed, and showed a great mix of maths and creativity.
