Primary 1 had great fun playing a game of “Musical Phonics,” our own twist on musical chairs. The children moved around the chairs while the music played, and when it stopped, they quickly sat down at the nearest seat. Each chair had a picture in front of it, and the children then wrote the CVC word to match the image. It was a lively and engaging way to practise sounding out and spelling words, and everyone enjoyed combining movement with learning.
