Holy Child Primary School, Derry

Notices for week beginning Monday May 1st 2017

1st May 2017

I hope everyone is out enjoying family time in the sun today!
Another important week ahead as the school prepares for the beginning of our annual assessments starting next Monday May 8th. These assessments will run for two weeks so full attendance is more important than ever.

On Saturday we held our Open Day for past staff and pupils and it was a huge success. It was great to see so many old (no offence intended!) faces again! A big thank to the staff in the school coordinated by Mrs Cullen for putting on such a lovely event. The P6 and 7 children who helped out were magnificent. So many visitors commented on their manners and friendliness!

And so to the week ahead -

Club news this week:
Swimming is on tomorrow (Tuesday) as is netball for all the girls from P4-7
Wednesday - Drama and Tin Whistle and Choir
Thursday - Drama
Friday - Football KS1 Hall and KS2 Sports Hall

Zumba for kids will be back next Monday 8th and run for three more weeks - final session Monday 22nd. For these final sessions we would like to invite any parents who wish to come along too to do so.... join in with the kids in what is a really fun dance session.

You will be happy to hear there are no more holidays until the end of the month. The children will be off school from Thursday May 25th at 3pm until Wednesday May 31st.

May, of course, will be a huge month for our Primary Four children who will be making their First Holy Communion on Saturday May 20th. We wish them well with all their final preparations this month.

Please check out the school website calendar for upcoming dates for events throughout May and June: www.holychildps.co.uk
