Notices for the week beginning Monday May 14th

13th May 2018

This weekend and next is all about our P4 and P7 children and the celebration of the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Yesterday our P4 children made their First Holy Communion. It was a wonderful occasion, a very special day when the sun also shone for our amazing children.  We ask that the children wear in their lovely outfits tomorrow but that they also bring in their full school uniform and we will ensure that they change before break time. The photographer has said he will bring the photographs to school on Tuesday afternoon and each will be numbered so that you can place an order with me. I will be in touch regarding this on Wednesday.

From tomorrow, we look ahead to next Sunday, when our P7s make their Confirmation. Tomorrow night, all parents, sponsors and children should attend the 7.30pm mass which is the mass of Commitment to Confirmation. Immediately following the mass, the sponsors will have a practice for their role on the big day. Confirmation then takes place on Sunday at 3pm. A detailed letter will be sent home tomorrow.

Following the ceremony, it is the turn of Holy Child PS to provide refreshments for the children and families of both St John's and Holy Child Primary Schools and this will take place in the school canteen on Fanad Drive. We hope you will all come along and support us in this hosting role. The official photographers will also be available in the canteen. First they will take an photograph of each child as they are anointed during the ceremony. The photographers would like each family who wish to use their services to register online before Sunday. More details regarding this will also be sent out early in the week.

P7 parents should also note that the photographers will be returning to Holy Child on Wednesday May 23rd when they will create both a class scroll of the children in their Confirmation outfits and also individual graduation photographs. Therefore they will need both full uniform and confirmation clothes on Wednesday May 23rd.

INDIVIDUAL GRADUATION PHOTOGRAPHS OF OUR NURSERY CHILDREN WILL ALSO BE TAKEN ON WEDNESDAY MAY 23RD SO ATTENDANCE ON THIS DAY IS IMPORTANT!
