Punctuality

Last week we began a survey from P1-P7 regarding punctuality. Each teacher is recording lates on a daily basis. This survey will continue for a further 2/3 weeks. It is so important that the children come into school in good time in the morning in order to be ready to learn at 9am. The school is open from 8.15 with a variety of things to do. Classes are lined up and brought to their rooms for 9 so that lessons can begin promptly. We appreciate the support of so many parents in facilitating this.

Gortatole

This annual P7 residential will take place this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We hope to leave Central Drive by 8.30am so ask for all our P7 children to be in school by 8.20 that morning.

Charity Work

There will a presentation of our cheque to the Children's Cancer Unit in the Royal Victoria Hospital on Wednesday March 14th.

Our Trocaire collection is going really well. We are collecting it each week and last Monday £65 was collected for week one across the school. Both P5 and P7 contributed over £19 pounds per class! It's wonderful to see our older children recognising the importance of looking after those less fortunate. Tomorrow we will gather the contributions for last week -week 2. P1 and P2 are holding a raffle in order to raise funds and from tomorrow their donations will be added to the weekly total.

Well done to all those who dressed up for World Book Day! The kids looked great and really enjoyed themselves.

Finally, well done to our P4 children and parents for the excellent turn out at this morning's Do This in Memory of Me mass. The next one takes place on Palm Sunday at the end of March.

Many thanks

Miss Orla Mc Donnell
